about

Many new photography studios are just out to take your money, hand over some prints from an ink jet printer, and hope you’re happy enough to come back. Three Five Photography isn’t like that. Getting the images you want, especially for portraits, should be all about YOU, not about getting the shot and rushing you out the door for the next appointment. Some “studios” are even using what is known as a “green screen” as their main background, to be able to cobble together poorly composed images. They have taken the art out of photography.

At Three Five Photography we believe you are paying for our time and skill in making you look the best you possibly can. If, for you, that means an entire day in the Smoky Mountains doing location portraits, then that is what we can do! Sunset on Laurel Lake? … I’ll meet you at the water. Perhaps a background of deep forest and a babbling brook is more your style? I’ve spent countless hours traveling/photographing along the Daniel Boone National Forestry roads, so I know ALL the best spots! Have something even more special in mind? Or something as simple as a family shot in your living room? Feel free to send me an email or give me a call at [606] 620_0304 between 10AM – 5PM Monday – Friday to see how we can pull it off. The sky is the limit … and that’s no joke, I have a friend who is a pilot …

Currently, I am only available for location shoots, group shots, custom stock photography, on-location portraits, and other custom work as we have not acquired a full scale studio at this time.

While I am able to do many things, I do specialize in Black and White portraits with simple backgrounds. These are classic images that will look as fresh in 20 years as they do today. None of those horrible “retail store” photography backdrops. This type of photography ensures that we capture the real you, with no distractions from backgrounds.

In addition to the routine portrait, I am available to take shots of your buildings, houses, dogs, cats, pools, or even a fancy moth that lands on your window. Whatever you need a picture of, I can come and take it. Period. Just email me the details and we’ll work something out.

Also, sometime in the near future, I plan to announce an ultra-premium service, Vacation Photography. Everyone remembers the vacation slide shows of yesteryear. Now, you can hire a professional to come along with you and take pro-level photographs on those dream vacations. No more asking locals, or other vacationers, to take your picture. No more setting the self-timer and running back to the group. Your only worry is making memories that last a lifetime. Plus, when you return, you not only get digital copies of all your images, you will also get a DVD and hardcover book detailing your travels. Would you like to have this service, but don’t really like the thought of a man with a camera following you around on vacation? Then only request one or two days of your entire trip! We’re glad to work with you. This service will be available on a first-come first-served basis for preset dates throughout the year. Pricing varies with location and amount of days you would like the Photographer with you. Pre-paid retainer and per diem fees apply.

I’m willing to travel anywhere you need me to be to get the shots you want. SO what are you waiting for? Contact me! Just drop me an email at threefivephotography@gmail.com or call [606] 620_0304

a little about me …

I was born in Kentucky in 1978. While still a kid, I had an ability for art, however, over time science became my main interest. Putting away the sketchpad, I eventually earned two bachelor degrees from Eastern Kentucky University in Psychology and Sociology. After college, I once again entered the world of art via employment as an Art Director for a small toy company. This rediscovered passion lead me to photography, and naturally, this website.

If pressed, I would describe my work as a loose cross-section of life. Like life, my images are often strange, occasionally natural, but always thought provoking. Anyone viewing my images shouldn’t ask, “What is that?” but instead, “Why haven’t I noticed this before?”

I reside in Southeastern Kentucky and currently am enrolled in the Masters program at Eastern Kentucky University.
